Assistant/Associate Director, Pharmacometrics and Translational PK-PD
Enhanced Pharmacodynamics, LLC (ePD) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team to serve as an innovative scientist in our Pharmacometrics and Translational Pharmacokinetics-Pharmacodynamics (PK-PD) division.
The Assistant/Associate Director, Pharmacometrics and Translational PK-PD position will be located in Buffalo, New York at the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (http://www.buffalo.edu/bioinformatics.html). The primary responsibilities will be to serve as either a project leader or supporting project team member by providing analytic support to various pre-clinical and clinical modeling projects. The Assistant/Associate Director, Pharmacometrics and Translational PK-PD will be expected to interface with an inter-disciplinary team, including executive management and various members of project teams at ePD. Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary for ePD-related business needs.
Interface with clients to coordinate data transfer procedures and to maintain records and proper storage of client datasets from preclinical and clinical studies.
Perform various data management tasks involved with constructing analysis-ready datasets for Pharmacometric and Translational PK-PD modeling applications.
Develop pharmacometric data analysis plans, conduct various types of population PK and PK-PD analyses, and provide interpretation of results for client projects.
Implement quantitative methods to integrate pharmacometric, biomarker, clinical endpoint data, and in vitro data in mechanistic models to account for the impact of both disease and drug effect.
Prepare research technical reports, manuscripts, and project support applications based on completed research.
Present research results to Sponsors, regulatory agencies, and at scientific symposia.
Travel for international and domestic meetings with Sponsors, regulatory agencies, and scientific symposia.
Effectively communicate modeling and simulation analysis results in writing and presentations.
The maintenance of high ethical standards in research is a critical responsibility of the research community, and individuals involved in ePD research projects are expected to conduct research according to ethical standards understood in the scientific community.
M.S., Pharm.D., or Ph.D. degree in statistics, mathematics, computer sciences, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other related biological or life sciences program with an emphasis on modeling and simulation.
Skills and Experience Requirements
Expertise with the statistical software program R is required.
Experience with PK (e.g., WinNonlin® and/or other) and various population PK modeling tools (e.g., NONMEM®) is highly desirable.
Applicant should be self-motivated, capable of conducting independent research, and possess strong problem solving capabilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
Associate Director level will additionally require demonstrated project leadership experience in the field of pharmacometrics and/or clinical pharmacology.
